I have been interested in Science Fiction for as long as I can remember. I think the first time my eyes were opened to the infinite possibilities of science fiction was at the age of 8, when I watched Star Wars for the very first time.

At the age of 40, my interest in it continued to grow, especially with the advent of 3D movie production, computer generated imagery, and the huge improvement registered in computer game content and quality.

These days, you can immerse yourself in massive 3D multiplayer environments where you can play out your fantasies in space: as a pirate, smuggler, space force pilot, or whatever else you might desire.

But science fiction does not only include movies or computer games. Books remain to be as good a medium as any to experience the vision that writers have. The beauty of reading science fiction is that you are free to imagine whatever you want. Podcasts are another way of enjoying science fiction. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was originally broadcast on radio, and relied solely on the incredible imagination of the writers who created it. These blog posts will delve into the realm of science fiction in terms of movies, books and my own ideas of what could be going on in the far reaches of the universe. As Stephen Hawking said: “In my mind, I am free.”

Science fiction is an escape from the real world. An opportunity to dream of what could be; in some other galaxy far, far away.
